Pastor Jeff (PJ) moved back to Wyoming in March 2021 from Scottsbluff, Nebraska, where he lived for 19 years. He is a Wyoming native who was born in Douglas, Wyoming. Before coming to Lander, Jeff had a desire to return to his roots. He loves serving his community and giving back to the community. His heart is to build lasting relationships in Fremont County and to teach people about a relationship with Jesus rather than religious checklist.
Jeff led a recovery program for 8 years (Celebrate Recovery) and worked closely with state and local agencies in Nebraska. He looks forward to bringing that same relationship here to Lander, Wyoming. As a recovering addict, he understands why people do the things they do and believes that people can change. He grew up in a broken home and lived a life of self- destruction. At the age of 25 he was homeless, living in a vehicle. Jeff had a radical encounter with the Lord that forever changed his life. He has been married to his beautiful wife Brandy for 18 years and has two boys, Jaycee and Bryce.
“I don’t care what your past was or were you are right now. I believe that Jesus can change anybody’s life. I was told I would never amount to anything, but Jesus had a bigger plan for my life. He can change your life too. You must be willing to take that next step!”
-Pastor Jeff Courtier
Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him. It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness, and redemption. Therefore, as it is written: “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.”
